Born to Run

It’s not just a run, dogs were bred to work, to chase, to fulfil a task - but somewhere along the way, that purpose was lost.

FAQS

  • At RunRover, we welcome dogs 4 months and older who are up to date on their vaccinations. Our equipment safely accommodates pups from 2 to 250 pounds, and our team has experience working with a wide range of dogs - from the anxious, shy, or stubborn to those who are overweight, recovering from surgery, or have limited mobility. Just let us know your dog’s unique needs, and we’ll make sure their session is safe, positive, and tailored to them.

Before starting any new exercise routine, please consult your veterinarian to ensure your dog is ready for physical activity.

  • Most dogs pick it up within about five minutes - we guide them through how to balance and move comfortably on the treadmill. With each session, their confidence and coordination grows naturally. Every run is closely supervised for safety, and because our treadmills are non-motorized, your dog controls the pace - speeding up or slowing down whenever they choose. We take our time to make sure each experience is safe, positive, and tailored to your dog’s comfort.

  • When booking a run, we can usually schedule a few days out — same-day spots are limited, so the earlier you book, the better! Sessions are set on the hour or half-hour, with a 30-minute buffer to allow for traffic or delays. Before your first visit, you’ll receive a liability form to sign and a confirmation text the day before. We’ll also send an ETA text when we’re on our way so you can handle a potty break and get your pup leashed up. Please avoid feeding your dog within 2 hours of their session, and feel free to use your own harness - or we’ll provide one for comfort and safety.

At RunRover, safety and positivity come first. Each workout is customized to your dog’s needs and fully supervised to ensure a fun, safe, and stress-free experience. Our non-motorized treadmills let dogs move at their own pace - nothing is ever forced. We use encouragement and play (never treats) to motivate, keeping every session upbeat and rewarding. You’re always welcome to join in the mobile gym or relax inside while we handle the workout!

After their run, your dog might flop onto the cool floor and pant for a bit — that just means they got a great workout! Wait until their heart rate slows down before feeding. Some pups may also get a quick burst of post-run energy — totally normal as those endorphins and adrenaline kick in. For older or less conditioned dogs, a gentle leg rubdown can help relax their muscles and prevent soreness. From there you can book in your next appointment at Runrover.ca

  • We accept all cash, credit or debit. You can also prepay by saving a card on file through square appointments or pay in person

  • We recommend joining your dog for their first trial run so everyone can meet and your pup feels your encouragement in the new environment. After that, you’re welcome to simply hand off at the door or let us handle pickup and drop-off - whichever you prefer. RunRover is fully insured and bonded, so you can rest easy knowing your dog is in safe hands.

  • Research shows 30 minutes to be the sweet spot to get an intense physically and mentally stimulating workout in without over exertion for your dog. Session length may vary based on the judgement of our trainers on your dogs prior physical conditioning.

  • We provide weekly, bi-weekly, and on-demand scheduling options. Many clients choose to book once a week, enjoying consistent mental and physical benefits by sticking to the same day and time each week. In the colder winter months or the warmer summer months, when outdoor activities are less feasible, several clients prefer to increase their frequency to twice weekly. You know your dog best, and we’re here to help you explore the options that suit your specific needs.
